I love searching the internet to find unique items that match my eclectic style and life. I get disappointed when I find cool stuff that ends up being super expensive and way out of my budget. My goal is to share the hip and relevant things that I find throughout my journey with you.
I love this time of year when it comes to expanding my wardrobe. Stores are filling the clearance racks with summer clothes trying to unload and make room for their upcoming Fall 2014 Collections. If you’re smart, you can snatch up these deals. With a little planning you can also stock up on some cheap fall clothes! My Three Simple Rules toMid-Summer Shopping:
Choose warm colors. Pick colors that will look great throughout the year. Whether there is sun in your eyes or snow on your boots!
Remember layers. Find shirts that will look good under your favorite cardigan or jacket once the chilly air arrives.
Stay away from super trendy sandals. It’s easy to buy super cute trendy shoes on the cheap right now but you might not wear them much longer this season and by next summer they might loose their cool…
Check our the Jersey Topfrom H&M. For less than $13 you’ve got a shirt that will last you all year! Pair with shorts, maxi skirts, jeans or leggings and you’ve got a great outfit on the cheap! Plan ahead, it will save you the headache and money by the time fall comes around.
With crazy work schedules, and home lives, I think we could all agree that we need a little more peace in our lives.
Zen gardens are great when you need a little time to relax and take a moment to yourself to just literally ZEN OUT. Don’t settle for some boring zen garden though. Add some color and style to your zen and your home/office/space. Draw around aimlessly in a vase of colorful sand. Doodle and design. Take your mind off stress and worries. Relax.
Check out wendiland on Etsy for great modern alternatives to Japanese Zen Gardens. Itty Bitty succulents and furry moss balls in little beds of goodness. The cactus is your obstacle and the sand is your peace.
Collecting things that are homemade are a novelty. It’s so special because every piece is different. Made by hand, with passion and love.
